After a scholarly engaged New York childhood, Liu earned an Emmy gesture for her part as the sharp-tongued Ling Charm on Partner McBeal. She soon left David E. Kelley's hit arrangement for a movie profession, showing up in the Oscar-winning motion picture musical Chicago and endeavored to murder Uma Thurman in Execute Bill Vol. 1. 

In 2008, the twice-recorded Individuals Most Delightful shocker at long last became the overwhelming focus with her own ABC arrangement Cashmere Mafia. After its cancelation, she stayed with ABC, playing a featuring part in their hit seriesDirty Provocative Cash before proceeding onward to CBS's Basic, in which she plays a female Watson inverse Jonny Lee Mill operator's Sherlock Holmes.
